
SCSU Swimming and Diving Find Success at Carleton College Invite

Northfield, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams excelled during their meet hosted by Carleton College and St. Olaf College this afternoon. Teams participating in the meet include: Minnesota State University, St. Olaf College, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Carleton College and St. Cloud State.
St. Cloud State men's squad won 12 of the 16 events they participated in. The women's squad won eight of the 16 events.
Head Coach Jeff Hegle recapped the day stating, "I am very proud of our student athletes, they are training at a very high level and finding a way to be successful in the pool. They continue to make improvements each week and are very focused on what lies ahead."
Four pool records were set by St. Cloud State swimmers this afternoon.
Kellyn Craig (Denver, Colo.) set a pool record in the 200 breaststroke. Craig swam the 200 in 2:23.33. Craig also took home first place finishes in the 400 yard IM and the 100 yard breastroke.
The men's 200 medley relay squad set a pool record with a time of 1:33.87. Participants of the 200 medley relay include: Bob Simson, Napoleon Howell, Jake Stoll, and Jake Hausauer.
Luke Weber (Mankato) set pool records in both the one-meter and three-meter dives.
Four individuals qualified for the national meet after today's performance. Tori Raihle (Spring Lake Park), Chris White (Rochester), Luke Weber (Mankato) and Tyler Magalis (Farmington) are among the members who qualified.
St. Cloud State will return to action Nov. 16 as they travel to Green Bay, Wis. to take on the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay.
