Husky Hoops Hit the Road for Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team will embark on their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) road series of the season this weekend. The Huskies are set to take on Bemidji State University on Friday evening at 6 p.m. followed by a Saturday afternoon match-up vs. Minnesota Crookston.Â
St. Cloud State enters the weekend with a 5-0 overall record, and a 1-0 mark in the NSIC following their victory over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday (Nov. 30). In the All-Time Series Record vs. BSU, the Huskies lead 34-13. In All-Time records vs. the Golden Eagles, St. Cloud State leads 16-4.
Senior forward Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) leads the Huskies statistically so far thsi season. Benson is averaging 17.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. In the Huskies 81-73 NSIC opener win vs. Minnesota Duluth, Benson led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds. This performance marked her fourth double-double in a row this season.
Both Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston enter the weekend with a 4-1 overall record. The Golden Eagles defeated the Beavers from BSU, 104-84 in their conference opener (Nov. 30).Â
