St. Cloud State University senior forward Drew LeBlanc and junior defenseman Nick Jensen have been named as CCM Hockey All-Americans for the 2012-13 season. The awards were announced tonight at the NCAA Division I Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, Pa. at the CONSOL Energy Center.
Both LeBlanc and Jensen were named West First Team All-Americans, which marks the first time that SCSU has gained Division I All-America honors twice in the same season.
A total of 25 college hockey players received 2013 CCM Hockey All-America honors in 2013 and SCSU was the lone Frozen Four participant with more than one All-America award winner this winter.
This marks the ninth and 10th time since 1987-88 that the Huskies have gained All-America notice, and the pair are just the second and third First Team All-Americans for the Huskies. In the entire history of the program (DI and pre-DI eras included), the Huskies have earned All-America notice 21 times since 1970.
The 2013 Hobey Baker Award winner, WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year and WCHA Player of the Year, LeBlanc led the Huskies in scoring this season with 13 goals and 37 assists. A four-time WCHA Scholar-Athlete and two-time All-WCHA recipient, LeBlanc is a resident of Hermantown H.S.
LeBlanc helped place SCSU as the fourth best team in the nation on offense with a scoring average of 3.36 goals per game in 2012-13.
The 2013 WCHA Defense Player of the Year, Jensen charted four goals and 27 assists for the Huskies this season. A two-time All-WCHA award winner and WCHA Scholar-Athlete, Jensen is a resident of Rogers, Minn.
The pair helped direct SCSU to a season of firsts in 2012-13. This list included a first trip to the NCAA Frozen Four, the team's first-ever NCAA Regional crown and the Huskies first-ever WCHA regular season title.
