FUN FACT: The Huskies faced Central Missouri in the 1971 NCAA Midwest Regional tournament and came away with a 4-1 win in that game. The Huskies were knocked out of the NCAA tournament that season by Northern Colorado. SCSU currently owns a 2-1 record against Central Missouri and the Huskies posted a 7-3 win and a 7-6 loss against CM back in 2007.
THE OTHER GUYS: SCSU is 2-2 in action against Missouri Southern and 7-10 in play against Missouri Western. Earlier this season, the Huskies lost a 5-3 game at Missouri Western on April 15. SCSU is 0-1 in its lone meeting against Southern Arkansas (15-4 loss in 2010) and SCSU is 80-126 in play against Minnesota State since the series started between these two NSIC schools back in 1939. Due to the long, long winter in Minnesota, the regular season meetings between SCSU and Minnesota State were cancelled due to snow in 2013. Last year at the 2012 NCAA Central Region tournament in Mankato, the Huskies lost a 5-4 decision in the championship game. The Huskies also lost in the Central Region title game to MSU in 2010.
NSIC RECAP: The Huskies recently hosted the 2013 NSIC baseball tournament at Joe Faber and Dick Putz Fields in St. Cloud. SCSU was the top seed in the tournament and posted a 3-2 record, which included wins over Concordia-St. Paul, Wayne State and Augustana. Senior shortstop Travis Cariveau and senior outfielder Brian Hansen were both named to the NSIC All-Tournament team for 2013.
POLL POSITION: The Huskies were ranked fifth in the most recent NCAA regional poll and have gained top 12 rankings in all of the latest Division II national polls.
THE SKIPPER: Coach Pat Dolan is in his sixth season at St. Cloud State. He owns a 224-93-1 career record with the Huskies.
THE CHAMPS: SCSU claimed first place in the 2013 NSIC regular season standings with a 19-3 record. This marked the first time since 1994 that the Huskies have earned a regular season title. In 1994, SCSU claimed the North Central Conference North Division title. This marked the first time that SCSU has won the NSIC regular season title since they rejoined the league in 2009. Back when the Northern Sun was known as the Northern Intercollegiate Conference, the Huskies won eight league crowns with the last coming in 1978.

RECORD RELIEF: Rookie Reese Gregory has already set a new team record for saves in a season. He currently has nine saves in 2013, which bypasses the old standard set by Ryne Schwenke in 2011. He is also tied for the team's career save record of nine set by Tim Radmacher from 2008-09. Gregory hails from nearby St. Cloud Apollo H.S.
PASS THE ICE BAG: Senior outfielder Phil Imholte is a First Team Capital One Academic All-Region pick for 2013.
