Track & Field Receives 14 Commitments for 2014-15

St. Cloud, Minn. - St. Cloud State University head track and field coach Eric Hanenberger announced today that 13 high school seniors and one transfer student have committed to the Huskies' track and field program and will enroll at the University in the fall of 2014.
The following are those that have committed to the track and field program for the upcoming season and the event(s) they will be competing in.
Piper Atnip - Distance - Mount Horeb, Wis. (Mount Horeb H.S.)
Tom Bates - Sprints/Hurdles - Waverly, Iowa (Waverly-Shell Rock H.S.)
Calvin Buesgens - Sprints/Multi - Chaska, Minn. (Chaska H.S.)
JT Butler - Sprints - Montgomery, Minn. (New Prague H.S.)
Emma Gaustad - Distance - Spring Valley, Wis. (Spring Valley H.S.)
Curtwan Evans - Shot Put/Discus - Bloomingdale, Ill. (Lake Park H.S.)
Carly Lemke - High Jump - Octonto Falls, Wis. (Oconto Falls H.S.)
Wyatt Lemon - Hurdles - White Bear Lake, Minn. (White Bear Lake H.S.)
Jack Howell - Distance - McFarland, Wis. (McFarland H.S.)
Mathew Massmann - Distance - Little Falls, Minn. (Little Falls H.S.)
Dylan Nauert - Hurdles - Sugar Grove, Ill. (Kaneland H.S.)
Isaiah Pitchford - Sprints - Waukesha, Wis. (Waukesha South H.S.)
John Simila - Distance - Warminster, Pa. (Bucks County CC)
Sebastian Sowada - Distance - Little Falls, Minn. (Little Falls H.S.)
Out of these 14 commitments, 11 will be dual sport athletes. In addition to track and field they will be a part of the St. Cloud State football, volleyball and cross-country teams.
"I am very happy with the 14 athletes that have already committed," said head coach Eric Hanenberger.
"Our coaching staff has put in a lot of work and will continue to finish off the recruiting year as it is a never ending process. We have identified areas where we needed depth and started to fill with a group of athletes that will bring a great deal of character and academics to the community. We have a number of dual sport athletes, which is great for the department and University."
