JoVonte Suber wins 400 meters on final day of NSIC/U.S. Bank Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Men place fifth, women finish in ninth place
Sioux Falls, S.D. – St. Cloud State sophomore JoVonte Suber (St. Louis, Mo.) brought home the Huskies third individual title at the 2015 NSIC/U.S. Bank Outdoor Track and Field Championships on final day action held on the campus of the University of Sioux Falls.
Suber won the 400 meters in 48.17 and established a personal record. The Huskies men's team placed fifth at the championships posting 72 points. The St. Cloud State women collected 37 points to finish in ninth place.
Final Results
Top finishers for the women's team on the final day included a second place finish for sophomore Patience Yalartai (Bloomington, Minn.) in the triple jump with a mark of 40-06.00.
Senior Becky Schmidt (White Bear Lake, Minn.) placed fourth in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.09.
The women's 4x100 relay of Yalartai, Schmidte, Alicia Evans and Jasmine Grant placed seventh in a time of 48.42. The 4x400 relay of Evans, Natalie Gottschalk, Yalartai and Grant ran in 3:58.66 to place eighth.
On the men's side the 4x400 relay of Marcus Welk, Suber, Tom Bates and Isaiah Pitchford placed second in a time of 3:18.20.
Sophomore Keyshawn Davis (Milwaukee, Wis.) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 47-06.50.
First-year athlete JT Butler (Montgomery, Minn.) placed sixth in the 200 meter dash in 21.65 and added points in the 100 meter dash with an eighth place finish in 10.99.
Junior Ryan Johnson (Amery, Wis.) placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 51-05.50. First year Sebastian Sowada (Little Falls, Minn.) placed eighth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4.04.99. The 4x100 relay of Welk, Davis, Ted Tranel and Butler were seventh in 42.24.
