Sam Sunstrom and Keyshawn Davis Place In Top Three In Their Events on First Day of SDSU Indoor Challenge

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Juniors Keyshawn Davis and Sam Sunstrom highlighted the first day of action for St. Cloud State's indoor track & field teams at the SDSU Indoor Challenge on Friday, Feb. 12.
Davis placed second in the long jump with a leap of 7.29m and also improved on his previous NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark with his jump.

Sunstrom finished in third in the 5000m with a time of 17:22.85. The mark is also an NCAA Provisional Qualifying tally in the event.

Junior Patience Yalartai placed 10th in the long jump with a 5.43m.
Sophomore J.T. Butler finished just outside of the top 10 and in 11th place with his run of 22.11 in the 200m dash.

The St. Cloud indoor track and field programs continue competition in Brookings on Saturday, Feb. 13, with the men's/women's weight throw, men's/women's shot put, men's / women's high jump, men's /women's triple jump, men's / women's mile run, men's / women's 400m dash, men's / women's 800m, men's/ women's 60m hurdles, men's 4x400 relay and the women's 4x400 relay.
