Natalie Gottschalk Finishes Fourth in Heptathlon at 2016 MIAA / NSIC Challenge

MARYVILLE, Mo. – After beginning the day in fifth place of 13 competitors, sophomore Natalie Gottschalk moved up to fourth place on the second and final day of the 2016 MIAA / NSIC Challenge at Bearcat Stadium. She ended the two-days of competition with 4599 points.
Gottschalk point total of 4599 also bettered the mark of 4442 points needed to reach NCAA Outdoor Provisional Standards. Her point total was also the highest of any of the NSIC athletes to compete in the heptathlon in Missouri.
She had a strong final day of competition in placing second in the long jump (5.37m/17'07.50) and the 800m (2:31.46). Gottschalk also finished fifth in the javelin with a toss of 32.78m/107.06"
The rest of St. Cloud State's outdoor track and field team is scheduled to compete this weekend at the USF Open in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Sunday, April 10.
