St. Cloud State names 2015-16 Senior Student-Athletes of the Year

St. Cloud State University has named Clint Poster (Pierz, Minn.) and Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) as its 2015-16 Senior Athletes of the Year.

The Senior Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to the Huskies' top male and female senior student-athletes. Athletes are nominated for the award by their team's coach and the award is determined by a vote of the Athletic Department's coaches and staff.
A resident of Pierz, Minn. and graduate of Pierz Healy High School, Poster earned his fourth consecutive All-America honor with the SCSU wrestling team in 2015-16. He placed third at the NCAA championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and also placed fourth at the NCAA championships in 2013.Â
The 2016 NSIC Wrestler of the Year, Poster was a four-time NWCA All-Academic award winner and a three-time All-NSIC Academic award recipient.Â
In four seasons as a Husky, Poster helped lead St. Cloud State to four consecutive NSIC championships along with NCAA Division II national team titles in 2015 and 2016. He ended his career as the winningest wrestler in the history of the program with 146 victories.  An entrepreneurship major at St. Cloud State. Poster set team records with 40 victories and 19 falls at 165-pounds in 2015-16.
Stamer, a resident of Hutchinson, Minn. and graduate of Hutchinson High School, completed her fourth season with the Huskies in 2015. A three-time All-NSIC Academic award winner with the Huskies, Stamer received the NSIC's Myle Brand All-Academic with Distinction award in 2015-16.

An All-NSIC Second Team recipient during her senior season, Stamer set a new team career record with 1,929 career digs from 2012 to 2015. A defensive specialist, Stamer led the team with 557 digs in 2015. She also had 100 assists in 2015 for the Huskies.
A pre-med and biomedical sciences major at SCSU, Stamer was active with numerous campus and community groups including the SCSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the SCSU Chemistry Club. She helped with youth sport clinics in the St. Cloud area and back home in Hutchinson, the Husky Volunteers for Science group, National Girls and Women in Sports Day and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
