Natalie Gottschalk Places Among Top Three In A Pair of Events to Lead Indoor Track & Field at SDSU DII Invite

Brookings, S.D. – Junior Natalie Gottschalk placed in the top-three in pair of events to help lead the St. Cloud State indoor track & field program at the SDSU DII Invite in Brookings, S.D. on Jan. 20 at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Complex.

With the team battling sickness for most of the week, only eight members of the squad were able to make the trip to South Dakota to compete. Despite the limited number of athletes competing the Huskies still had six top-five finish and an event victory on the day
Gottschalk placed tied for second in the high jump with a 1.52m. She also finished third in the long jump (5.29m)

Senior Patience Yalartai won the triple jump with her leap of 12.36m. The jump was also an NCAA Provisional qualifier.
Junior McKenzie Holt placed fourth in the 3,000m (10:47.24), while freshman Chrissy Lofgren finished fifth in the mile (5:24.44).
Senior Rachel Sakry earned sixth in the 800m (2:24.53) and Kaylee Roelike placed seventh in the 1000m (3:12.77).
Next, the SCSU indoor team travels to the Mankato, Minn. to participate in the MSU Multi-Open on Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28.
