Yalartai Wins Triple Jump With NCAA DII Provisional Qualifying Mark at Holst Invite

St. Paul, Minn. – Senior Patience Yalartai won the triple jump and recorded an NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark in the event to lead the St. Cloud State track and field program at the Holst Invite on Saturday, April 22, at Sea Foam Stadium. The squad recorded 16 top-10 finishes including six marks in the top three on the day.
Yalartai won the triple jump with her leap of 11.85m/38'10.50". Her mark was also an NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark. It was also her third time winning the outdoor triple jump this season. Freshman Abby Jungwirth finished third in the triple jump with her 10.98m/36:00.25". Jugwirth also finished seventh in the long jump (5.06m/12'07.25), and ninth in the high jump (1.55m/5'01.00").

Senior Lindsay Klug finished third in the javelin throw with her toss of 33.25m/109'01".
Freshman Bailee Brazerol placed third in the 100m (12.28) and 10th in the 200m (26.06)
Senior Jasmine Grant finished third in the 400m (56.95).

The team's 4x100 relay team also finished third in their event with a 49.69.
Other top 10 finishes for SCSU were freshman Autum Shurbert-Hetzel (eighth – 3000m – 12:05.68), senior Sam Sunstrom (eighth – 1500m – 4:47.21), freshman Kaylee Glover (ninth – 400m – 56.95), freshman Jocelyn Johnson (sixth – 100m hurdles – 16.43), freshman Bridget Brown (fourth – 400m hurdles – 1:07.19), freshman Dominique Buechel (ninth – hammer – 42.53m/139'06" and fourth - discus - 41.90m/137'06") and Johnson (ninth – high jump – 1.55m/5'01.'00")
The SCSU team continues outdoor season with three meets next week. SCSU starts off by sending a group to the Drake Relays on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa on April 27. Most of rest of the program then heads Indianola, Iowa for the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson College on April 28. The program will also send a delegation to the NSIC Multi-Championship from April 30-May 1 in Mankato, Minn.
