Brent Otto was a member of the SCSU football team from 1985 to 1989. A wide receiver, Brent was a four-year starter and senior captain. Brent captained the 1989 NCC Championship team that posted a 10-2 overall record and an 8-1 mark in the NCC. The Huskies advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the first tie ever that year and defeated Augustana 27-20 before losing to Mississippi College in the quarterfinal round. Brent earned All-Conference honors three years. He set two receiving records during his career and remains in the record book with his marks for the most passes caught in a game (13) and most touchdown passes caught in a game (3). He ranks fourth in all-time receiving as he caught 134 passes for 1,994 yards and 15 touchdowns during this career. Brent received a mass communications degree from SCSU and is vice president at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffrey in Minneapolis. He is the co-founder of Team FAR, a non-profit organization that funds two, five-year scholarships given to graduating seniors at his alma mater, Patrick Henry H.S.
