Diane Scherer Poquette of Cedar Falls, Iowa, earned a physical education degree in 1985 after completing four years as a starter on the women's basketball team. She graduated from SCSU as the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota women's basketball history, a record which stood for eight years. She was named to the all-conference team four times and to the MAIAW all-tournament team four times. She was captain of a team that was 31-4 and went to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals. Diane is listed among the top ten in the SCSU record book for assists, steals, blocked shots, games played, free throw attempts, free throws made, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. She holds records in points per game average, field goal attempts and field goals made. Since graduation, she has coached at St. Cloud State, Mankato State, Mount Scenario, Georgia Southwestern and now at the University of Northern Iowa where she is an assistant women's basketball coach. In addition to coaching duties, she coordinates team travel and junior college recruiting.
