Dr. Arthur Grachek

Faculty athletics representative from 1987 to 2001, professor and former chair of the Communication Studies Department.  During that time, he has seen the growth of SCSU athletics to 21 intercollegiate sports and NCAA Division I men's and women's ice hockey.  As the Faculty Athletics Representative, he chaired the SCSU Intercollegiate Athletics Committee. During his tenure as the FAR, he has chaired the WCHA Executive Committee and Honors Committee.  In addition, he has served as President and Executive Committee Member of the North Central Conference, and as the NCC Liaison to the Faculty Athletics Representatives Association.  Dr. Grachek has been a professor in the Communications Studies Department as SCSU since 1971.  Since joining the SCSU family, he has served the campus community tirelessly in many roles.  He received this bachelor's and master's degrees from St. Cloud State University and his doctorate from Wayne State (Mich.) University.  Dr. Grachek retired from SCSU in the spring of 2003. Â
