Between 1930 and 1933, Eddie was awarded 15 letters at SCSU, competing in football, basketball, track and tennis. He received all-conference honors in football and basketball. Following a successful collegiate career as a student-athlete, Eddie served 39 years as a faculty member at SCSU and 20 of those years he was athletic director. At various times, he coached football, basketball, track, tennis, golf and bowling. He also served as intramural sports director for 14 years before retiring in 1974.
