Fredrick Bierhaus

Dr. Frederick W. "Fritz" Bierhaus was quarterback of St. Cloud State's football team from 1940 to 1942. As the Huskies' signal caller in 1941, he led St. Cloud State to a 7-0 record and the conference championship, making SCSU one of only seven unbeaten-untied teams that season. Bierhaus began his coaching career at Stillwater High School and later served as head football, basketball and track coach while at Moorhead State (College) University. From 1956 to 1982, he was professor of physical education at the University of Colorado. Bierhaus has been the recipient of many civic and educational awards. He lives in Boulder, Colo.
