SCSU student from 1902-04 and faculty member from 1904-53. He served as head football coach at SCSU from 1904-15, 1922-28, 1933-34, and won five championships. Also was head basketball coach from 1904-29 and 1946, winning six titles. He refereed football and basketball for many years at the high school and collegiate levels, including Big Ten conference. Received his B.S. degree from SCSU and M.S. from University of Minnesota.
