George Torrey

George Torrey is a long-time supporter of SCSU Husky Athletics. Torrey, now retired as CEO of Herberger's has a personal commitment to the success of SCSU athletics. Torrey has provided the energy, creativity, leadership, and financial support that has contributed to many of the successes achieved by the athletic department. Torrey was instrumental in the construction of the National Hockey Center and SCSU's move to Division I hockey. He has also played an invaluable role in the success of other athletic programs including the Husky Showcase and several fundraising special events and concerts. Torrey's enthusiasm and loyalty for Husky athletics has earned him the Hall of Fame's 1996 Award for Distinguished Service to Athletics.
