Jack Harrison, Basketball, 1961-64
Jack Harrison transferred to St. Cloud State from the University of Minnesota and was a three-year starter for the Huskies on the hard court. He led the team in scoring during the 1962-63 and 1963-64 seasons, averaging 15.7 points and 17.5 points a game, respectively. A two-time All-Conference player, he was named the Northern Intercollegiate Conference (NIC) MVP in 1963, was a 1964 Honorable Mention NAIA All-Star Team member and an Honorable Mention Associated Press Little All-American. He played on three NIC Championship teams and three NAIA National Tournament teams. The 1964 squad advanced to the second round of the national tournament and posted a 22-4 record. Harrison scored 1,091 points in his career and the Huskies never lost a home game in his three seasons on the team. He is among several players to hold the individual game record for best free throw percentage, going ten-for-ten in a game in 1963-64.
