Jim Kiffmeyer earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from SCSU. Kiffmeyer, along with Jack Gause, started the SCSU wrestling program. He coached the wrestling team as a student during the 1951 and 1952 seasons. He was a football and wrestling letterwinner and was an all-conference football selection in 1951 and 1952. As a wrestler, he lost only one match during his college career and was the team MVP in 1951 and 1952. He was a three-time NWAAU wrestling champion. Kiffmeyer was a teacher and coach in the St. Cloud public schools from 1952 until his retirement in 1986.
