Keith Nord was a four-time letterwinner in football. He was named team captain and most valuable player in 1979. Nord was a member of the all-conference team, the District 13 team and winner of the NIC Glen Galligan Award. Nord's career as a defensive back for the Minnesota Vikings spanned seven years which included serving as captain of the special teams. He had participated in the SCSU summer leadership program and has been widely recognized for his community contributions, having been named March of Dimes Citizen Athlete and Muscular Dystrophy Citizen Athlete.
