Letterman in basketball from 1948-51, earning all-conference honors his final three seasons during which he did not miss starting a game. First player to score 1,000 points at SCSU and ranks ninth on the all-time scoring list with 1,015 points. Head basketball coach at SCSU in 1954-55 while working on M.S. degree. Later went on to serve as head basketball coach at Hopkins Lindbergh High School. An honor graduate listed in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities". Earned a B.S. degree and M.S. degree from SCSU and worked toward Doctorate from University of Minnesota. Â Played professional basketball with the Baltimore Bullets in 1953.
