Milaca, MN A decorated prep football player from Sauk Centre High School, Mark Schwegman was a four-year standout on the football team at St. Cloud State University from 1985-1988. In high school, Schwegman gained All-State and All-Area recognition and was picked as his conferences most valuable player in 1984-85. He played in the state All-Star football game and lettered in basketball at Sauk Centre from 1980-85. At SCSU, Schwegman gained All-NCC Honorable Mention recognition in 1986 and 1987 on the Huskies' offensive line. He finished his career by being selected to the All-NCC team in 1988. A four-year starter at offensive guard, Schwegman collected All-America honors in 1988, and he was the Huskies' outstanding offensive lineman in 1987-88. His work up front helped pave the way for All-American running back Harry Jackson in 1986-88. Schwegman signed an NFL contract with the Seattle Seahawks in 1988. Schwegman currently works for Super Value as a warehouse supervisor, and he has served as a youth football coach with his stepson Nicholas' team in Milaca.
