Paul Busch graduated in 1949 with a physical education degree. Busch played on the 1946 and 1947 football teams. He went on to have an illustrious coaching and teaching career. Among his many successes as a coach in five sports, Busch claims two state cross country championships and has coached 25 teams at the Minnesota cross country championship meet. He was named the 1987 Minnesota Teacher of Excellence and was inducted into the Cross Country Coach's Hall of Fame in 1989, and the State High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1991.
