Scottsdale Ariz., graduated from SCSU in 1930. During his two years at St. Cloud State, Ralph was a standout in football and basketball. In 1929, his basketball team was named champions in the Southern Division of the Little Ten Conference. Just a year later, the same team qualified to the Basketball Northern Division Finals of the Little Ten Conference. Ralph began his coaching career in 1930 as a football, basketball and golf coach at St. Charles High School A Minnesota native, Ralph and his wife Helen have three grown children. Haugen has been involved in many community activities including serving on the St. Charles school board for four years and St. Charles city council for two years.
