Ramona Rugloski Hjerpe

Redwood Falls, Minn., graduated in 1986 with a degree in psychology with a sports emphasis and a minor in human relations. Hjerpe was a center on the women's basketball team from 1982-85 and a three-year starter. She was a two-time American Women's Sports Federation All-American, a WBCA Kodak All-District, a North Central Conference All-Conference and All-Academic selection. In her three seasons with the Huskies, SCSU posted an 84-11 overall record, including a school record 31 wins during her first season in 1982-83. The Huskies won three NCAA Division II Regional Tournaments and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in each of her three seasons. She currently holds individual records for most field goals made in a game (16), most points scored in a game (38), best field goal percentage in a season (60.6%) and most blocked shorts in a season (104). Hjerpe is a native of Brainerd and a graduate of Brainerd High School where she was inducted into the High School Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility. She is employed by the Redwood Falls Hospital and is very active in her local church and the Redwood Falls Community Center Task Force. A full-time Mom, Ramona and her husband Kurt have three daughters.
