Robert Hegman

Robert Hegman was a four-year standout on the baseball and basketball teams from 1976 to 1980. he led the baseball team to conference titles in 1978 and 1980 and the basketball team to a Granite City Classic title in 1979. He was the NIC batting champion in 1979. After graduating in 1981 with a management and finance degree, Hegman was drafted in the 15th round by the Kansas City Royals. He played for seven seasons, reaching the major leagues in 1985. Hegman is currently the director of minor league operations for the Kansas City Royals.
