Milwaukee, WI: Shelly Jensen played softball at St. Cloud State University from 1989 to 1992. A four-year standout, Jensen gained NCC Player of the Year honors as a senior and was selected to the All-NCC squad in 1991 and 1992. A two-time All-Midwest selection in 1991 and 1992, Jensen was named to the NCC's All-Academic team in 1990, 1991 and 1992. In her junior season, Jensen was named to the NDSU Invitational All-Tournament team. As a senior, she gained the tourney MVP award at the Mankato State-American Legion Tournament. She capped her career by being named a first team GTE Academic All-America selection in 1992. In 1990 Jensen helped the Huskies gain their first-ever NCAA Division II tournament bid, a feat which they repeated in 1991 and 1992. She broke numerous team batting records during her college tenure and led the team in batting, doubles, stolen bases and RBIs in 1992. Jensen attended Clinton High School in Clinton, Iowa, where she was a letterwinner in both softball and basketball. She returned to her high school in 1993, serving there as a teacher and coach (head softball coach and assistant basketball coach) until 1998. From 1998-2001, Jensen worked as a professional staff instructor with the Crisis Prevention Institute in Brookfield, Wis., and since 2001 she has been the district training manager for Ceridian in its Milwaukee district office. Jensen graduated Summa Cum Laude from SCSU in 1993 and later attended the University of Iowa graduate school from 1995-97.
