St. Cloud State Tennis Players Earn All-NSIC Honors

St. Cloud State University junior Cassandra Brown, a resident of Elk River and graduate of Elk River High School, has been selected to the 2013 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team as a Singles First Team selection.
Brown also earned All-NSIC Doubles First Team honors for 2013 along with partner junior Katie Kotschevar, who is a resident of Monticello and graduate of Monticello High School. Kotschevar also earned 2013 All-NSIC Singles Second Team honors for the Huskies.
The group of conference honorees from St. Cloud State was completed by freshman Maribelle Siegfried (Stuttgart, Germany) and freshman Gabby Pung (Oshkosh, Wis.), who were both selected for All-NSIC Honorable Mention honors at doubles.
Brown completed her 2013 season with a 14-9 record at first singles for the Huskies, while Kotschevar was 16-10 in singles play this season for SCSU. The pair combined for a 15-9 mark at first doubles for the Huskies in 2013.
Pung and Siegfried were 13-13 in doubles play for SCSU this season. As a team, the Huskies charted a 17-12 overall record and were 10-2 in NSIC action this spring. At the 2013 NSIC Championships, the Huskies recorded a 6-0 win over Upper Iowa in the opening round of tournament play. In the NSIC tournament semifinals, the Huskies ended their year with a 5-0 loss to Winona State.
