SCSU Nordic Ski Finishes 8th at NCAA Regional Meet

Houghton, Mich. - The St. Cloud State University nordic ski team finished its two-day run at the NCAA Central Region Championships in Houghton, Mich. with a pair of eight place finishes. On Feb. 15, the Huskies placed eighth in the 5K Classic race and on Feb. 16, the Huskies charted an 8th place finish in the 10K freestyle race.
Northern Michigan won both races at the NCAA Regional. The complete team results are listed below.
Katherine Banken led the Huskies in the Classic race with a 29th place time of 19:44.8, while Ari Benoit placed 44th at 22:01.7 and Kiersten Haaversen was 45th at 22:02.7.
On Feb. 16, Banken led the Huskies once again in the freestyle race with a 35th place time of 38:04.2. Haaversen was 48th in the freestyle race at 41:52.4 and Halle Weisman was third at 42:32.3.
The Regional marks the end of the 2013-14 season for the Huskies.
