SCSU women's cross country places 18th at NCAA regional

The St. Cloud State University women's cross country team placed 18th at the 2015 NCAA Division II Central Region championship race on Saturday, Nov. 7 in Joplin, Mo.
The Huskies finished with a team total of 482 points, while Southwest Baptist won the race with 79 points and NSIC rival Minnesota Duluth placed second with 99 points.
SCSU junior Samantha Sunstrom lead the Huskies with a 54th place time of 22:44.79 in the race. Alexis Zeis of U-Mary won the 6K race Missouri Southern State University "Tom Rutledge" XC Course with a time of 20:08.31. This year's field consisted of 208 of the region's top DII cross country athletes.
The Huskies Kaylee Roelike placed 62nd in the race with a time of 22:53.58 and teammate Rachel Sakry place 73rd at 23:13.50. The group was completed by Maria Hauer with a 144th place time of 24:30.23 and Zia Matti in 157th place at 24:52.84.
