St. Cloud State places 18th among 36 teams as five runners establish new personal bests
JOPLIN, Mo. – St. Cloud State Cross Country closed their 2022 season with a strong showing at the Central Region Championships, placing 18th among 36 regional opponents. Five Huskies ran their best collegiate 6K at the race as SCSU earned a top-25 finish for the fourth-straight season.
Greta Freed, Clara Welhouse, Cambrie Kowal, Erica Conrad and Allie Butte each set new personal bests in their final race of the season.
Cheresa Bouley was the lone Husky to place in the top-100, landing 69th with a 22:21.1 finish. Freed ran a 23:03.4 to place 108th while Welhouse closed her collegiate career with a personal-best 23:17.3 for 122nd. Kowal (23:26.2, 129th) and Conrad (23:33.7, 134th) each PR'd to round out the Huskies' scorers. Lauren Sertich ran a 23:59.1 to place 159th while Butte joined her in the top 200 with a 24:53.7 finish for 185th.
