
Men’s basketball to host summer camps in 2022

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team announced its summer camp schedule for 2022. The Huskies will host two camps, the Day Camp and Overnight Camp, in June and July and will additionally host its annual summer league.
The St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Overnight Camp will take place June 12-15 for boys entering grades 5-10. The overnight camp is designed for campers with varsity and/or club volleyball playing experience or are thinking of playing at the collegiate level. It will focus on both individualized and small group work, league play and one-on-one contests intended to help develop and prepare basketball players for the next level. Campers will receive instruction from current members of the St. Cloud State men's basketball roster and coaching staff, including personal evaluations at the conclusion of each session. Cost is $250 for the day plan and $310 for the residential plan.
The Men's Basketball Day Camp will take place July 11-14 at the Halenbeck Hall Gymnasium on St. Cloud State's campus. A camp for boys and girls grades 3-9, the day camp will focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball through both individual and group drills. Campers will have the chance to work on new skills each day and participate in skills tests and a variety of competitions, while the final day of camp will feature an awards ceremony. The registration fee for the camp is $200 per child, which includes a St. Cloud State men's basketball t-shirt and lunch.
The Huskies men's basketball will additionally be conducting a summer basketball competition for high school age boys. Boys in grades 6 through 11 during the 2021-2022 school year are eligible to participate in the league, which will run for six weeks starting June 8-9. Teams will play two games per week: junior varsity boys on Tuesday nights, and varsity boys on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, dependent on registration. Varsity boys teams are encouraged to pick a preferred night but St. Cloud State reserves the right to move teams based on availability. The goal of the league is to provide fast-paced, fundamental basketball at a reasonable price, as the cost is $70 per player.Teams are not considered registered until the Sports Camps Office receives registration forms and payment.
