
Six Huskies Named to Women’s Worlds National Team Selection Camp Rosters

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Six St. Cloud State Huskies have been named to their respective countries' selection camp rosters for the IIHF Women's World Championship Tournament. The 2024 IIHF Women's Worlds will take place in Utica, New York. The tournament will begin on April 3, 2024, and finish on April 14, 2024.
Svenja Voigt (Cologne, Germany) will be back with team Germany in 2024. Voigt participated in the IIHF World Championships with Germany in 2021 and 2023. In 2020 and 2022, Voigt was on the U18 Junior World Championship team. Most recently, Voigt competed at the Five Nations Tournament.
Laura Zimmermann (Ringgenberg, Switzerland) has competed in three previous IIHF Women's Worlds in 2023, 2022, and 2021. Zimmermann was a member of the 2022 Swiss Olympic team in Beijing, China. Zimmermann also participated in two U18 World Championships in 2019 and 2020.
Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) played in two U18 Junior World Championships with team Finland in 2017 and 2018. Ahola made her Women's World Championship debut in 2023, leading the tournament in save percentage with a .957 and goals against average with a .67.
Sofianna Sundelin (Ulvila, Finland) will be joining current teammate, Sanni Ahola, on the Finnish team. In 2019 and 2020, Sundelin played in the U18 Junior World Championships and made her World Championships debut in 2021. In 2022, Sundelin played for team Finland in the Olympic Games and won Bronze with Finland. Sundelin has also competed with team Finland at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.
Klara Hymlarova (Opava, Czechia) will be back with team Czechia, a team she has extensive experience with. Hymlarova skated in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 U18 Junior World Championships. She also made the World Championships roster in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Hymlarova skated on the Czech Olympic team in 2022, scoring a short-handed goal against Sweden.
Jojo Chobak (Chicago, Ill.) is back with the United States for the second time in her career. Earlier this year, Chobak was named to the 2023 Collegiate Select Series where she helped the United States sweep Canada in the three-game series.
