
SCSU Men’s Basketball Earns 2023-24 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, Five Players Named to Honors Court

Dahl, Mutimer, Steele, Taylor and Willert recognized by NABC for academic performance
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Cloud State Men's Basketball has been named a recipient of the 2023-24 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced by the organization on Monday. Redshirt sophomore Tony Dahl (Buffalo, Minn.), senior Joe Mutimer (Melbourne, Australia), graduate Craig Steele (Portage, Wis.), graduate Luke Taylor (Germantown, Wis.) and senior Matt Willert (Buffalo, Minn.) have been named to the NABC Honors Court for their individual achievement in the classroom.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2023-24 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The NABC's academic awards recognize teams and athletes from all levels of college basketball and over 2,100 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 360 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2023-24.
The Huskies tallied a 3.39 GPA for the year, including a 3.47 in the fall semester and a 3.31 in the spring semester.
