St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Selected for NCAA Tournament for Third Consecutive season

No. 3-seeded Huskies will face No. 6 Pittsburg State on Friday in Bemidji, Minn.
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – For the third consecutive season and third time ever, St. Cloud State Women's Soccer is headed to the NCAA Tournament, as the 2025 NCAA Division-II Women's Soccer Tournament field was announced on Monday. The Huskies (14-2-5, 11-1-3 NSIC), the No. 3 seed in the central region, draws a first-round matchup with No. 6 seed Pittsburg State (14-3-2, 9-1-2 NSIC) on Friday, Nov. 21 in Bemidji, Minn. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.
SCSU is headed to its third consecutive and third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after a program-record 14 wins and a runner-up finish in the NSIC Tournament. The Huskies set program records for most wins (14), most conference wins (11) and best start (9-game unbeaten streak in 2025. SCSU had a league-high and program-best eight all-conference honorees, led by senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) and senior forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) being named to the All-NSIC First Team. Quam was named NSIC Midfielder of the Year (first year of award) after leading NSIC with seven assists, while Primerarno became the third player in program history to earn four all-conference honors and the first in program history to earn three first team all-conference honors. Head Coach Gretta Macdonald recorded her 100th career victory on Oct. 31 and was named NSIC Coach of the Year for second time in three seasons.
The NSIC, the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Great American Conference (GAC) make up the 36-team NCAA Central Region. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA region tournament. The two top-seeded teams in each region shall be offered the opportunity to host, provided minimum site selection criteria are met and a bid has been submitted. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
