
St. Cloud State Men’s Swim & Dive Sit in Fourth After the First Day of the GLIAC Championships

Huskies 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay finish second
HOLLAND, MICH. – The St. Cloud State Men's Swim & Dive finished second in two events on the first day of the 2024 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Wednesday February 20 in Holland Mich. The Huskies 200 medley relay and Huskies 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay finish second. Junior Mason Beck earned All-Conference Honors in the 50 freestyles, finishing second.
TEAM SCORES
After the first day of competition, the Huskies sit in fourth with 128 points, behind Grand Valley State (209.5 points), Northern Michigan (166.5), and Wayne State (166 points).
Top Huskies
- The relay team on Graduate Student Raf Hendriks, Sophomore Marcus Walker, Senior Max Matthaei, and Junior Mason Beck earned All-Conference honors and a new team record, finishing second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:26.60
- Beck finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 19.61. Sophomore Reid Tigges finished sixth (19.92) and Junior Lance Godard finished eight (20.23)
- The 200-freestyle relay team of Tigges, Sophomore Justin Rowles, Godard, and Beck finished second, earned a new school record, and posted the second fastest time in the country with a time of 1:18.35.
UP NEXT
GLIAC Championships continues tomorrow for day two of the meet. The preliminary session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. CT and the finals session at 4:30 p.m. CT.
