Senior guard tallies fourth All-Conference nod
Burnsville, MN. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball senior guard Jada Eggebrecht was named First Team All-NSIC as announced by the league office Thursday. This was her fourth time earning an All-Conference nod in her career and first time being on the First Team.
In her final season with the Huskies, Jada Eggebrecht posted career-highs of 14.7 points, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks. She also shot a career-high of 45.2% from the field and 39.4% from three while once again shooting above 93% from the free throw line. The scoring star was a nightly threat for opposing defenses as a potent three-level scorer. Eggebrecht's ability to play off the dribble was prominent in her ability to breakdown the defense and get to the rim or pullup for a midrange shot. Whether she came off a curl screen or had an isolation in the post, Eggebrecht was a master of the mid-range and was practically automatic when she had space for a shot. She averaged 5.4 field goals made per game as the Huskies leading scorer. The Philips, Wisconsin native was also deadeye from deep with nine multi-three games on the year. She continued to climb the all-time leaderboard in threes made with 178 to rank sixth and is 11th all-time in points in 1,523. She totaled five games with 20+ points. With her scoring gravity, Eggebrecht was able to create open shots for her teammates by averaging 2.2 assists. The defensive side of the ball saw Eggebrecht excel as a weakside defender jumping passing lanes to nab steals and rotate over from help side for blocks. After accumulating four All-Conference honors in her storied career, Eggebrecht joins Tori Wortz and Erika Quiqley as the third Husky to accumulate four All-Conference selections.
Eggebrecht and the rest of the Huskies will be back in action on Saturday, February 28 as they take on No. 3 Minnesota State in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Tournament.
