Wilmis Castro (Baseball) and Macey Clark (Softball) honored for their April/May performances
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics recognized two student-athletes as the Wolters Kluwer Athletes of the Month for April/May. Baseball junior outfielder Wilmis Castro (Port St. Lucie, Fla) was named Male Athlete of the Month and Softball senior pitcher Macey Clark (Winneconne, Wis.) was named Female Athlete of the Month for their performances during the month.

- Earned All-NSIC First Team honors, his second all-conference honor after being named to All-NSIC Second Team in 2025.
- Hit .379 in April/May with a 1.131 OPS, six home runs, three doubles, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored
- Hit safely in 13 of 19 games in April/May and had two or more hits in eight games.
- For 2026, hit .378 with a 1.178 OPS, 12 home runs, 16 doubles, four triples, 42 RBI and 39 runs scored. He led the Huskies in each of those offensive categories and ranked among the conference's top-10 in triples (first), batting average (second), slugging percentage (.727, second), hits (65, third), OPS (fourth), doubles (fourth) and home runs (eighth).
- His 32 extra base hits are the eighth-most in a single season in program history while his .727 slugging percentage ranks 10th.
- Among program career records, Castro's 23 home runs rank ninth all-time.
- Made 16 appearances with 13 starts, going 11-2 with nine complete games, two shutouts and two one-hitters.
- Recorded a 1.57 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP over 89 innings pitched.
- Struck out 66 batters while only walking 20.
- Held opposing batters to a.182 batting average.
- Selected to NFCA All-Central Region First Team and the D2CCA All-Central Region First Team.
- Named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, the first in program history.
- Selected to All-NSIC First Team, becoming one of just four Huskies to earn multiple All-NSIC honors
- Named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team after helping SCSU make its first-ever NSIC Tournament Championship appearance.
- Earned the first NSIC Pitcher of the Week honors of her career on April 21 which was the lone weekly honor for SCSU this season.
- SCSU was selected for its 11th-ever NCAA Tournament and first since 2019.
- The Huskies earned first-ever share of a regular season NSIC Championship.
- SCSU broke the record for NSIC wins in a season (26) and tied program record for wins in a season (46), surpassing the 40-win mark for the ninth time in program history and the second consecutive year.
- The Huskies strung together a 13-game win streak which was tied for the second longest in program history.
- SCSU was ranked in NFCA Poll for the first time since 2004.
- The Huskies posted a 21-6 record during April/May.
- Also named Wolters Kluwer Athletes of the Month for March.
