Volleyball to Host #8 Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls, Nov. 1 and 2

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team will return to their home court at Halenbeck Hall this weekend as they host #8 Southwest Minnesota State and the University of Sioux Falls. Friday's NSIC match-up is scheduled for 7 p.m.; Saturday's contest vs. the USF Cougars will begin at 4 p.m.

St. Cloud State Notes

The Huskies enter the weekend with a 12-10 overall record and a 6-8 mark in the NSIC (9^th place in the NSIC).
They suffer from a five-match losing streak, three of the losses coming to top-25 ranked teams.
Ellie Dietzen (Black Creek, Wis.) leads SCSU with 225 kills and a 2.81 kill per set average.
Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson) has totaled 351 digs this season, averaging 4.39 per set. This ranks Stamer sixth in the NSIC.

Southwest Game Notes

The #8 Mustangs enter the weekend match-ups with a 17-5 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the NSIC.
They are coming off two weekend victories over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
Southwest was upset by the University of Sioux Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in five sets.
Abby Thissen leads the Mustangs with 299 kills and a 3.69 kill per set average. This ranks her seventh in the NSIC.
As a team, Southwest ranks 4^th in the NSIC in kills. They average 14.11 kills per set.

Sioux Falls Game Notes

The Cougars enter the weekend with a 14-9 overall mark and a 6-8 record in conference action.
Sioux Falls is coming off a weekend split with a 0-3 loss to Minnesota Crookston and a 3-0 victory over Bemidji State.
Junior blocker Samantha Lovell was named this week's NSIC Player of the Week after collecting 30 kills and a .532 attack percentage in the Cougars 2-1 week, including their victory over #8 Southwest Minnesota State.
