SCSU Men's Cross Country Team to Compete at 2013 NCAA Regional

The St. Cloud State University men's cross country team will be headed to Sioux Falls, S.D. on Nov. 9 for the 2013 NCAA Division II Central Regional championships.

The meet will take place at the Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. and the course is a 10K layout that features four loops and a finish loop. This is the same location where the 2013 NSIC championships were held on Oct. 26. The Huskies placed 11th at the 2013 NSIC championships.

The race is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. (Central Time). Complete results and live scoring will be available at the website listed below:

NCAA REGIONAL LIVE SCORING

The Huskies will be led at the meet by senior Tom Mountain, who was SCSU's top placer at the recent NSIC championships with a time of 27:07.57 on the 8K course. Johnathan Hess was another top finisher for the Huskies with a time of 27:38.16 and Ra'shad Harris posted a time of 28:17.59. The remainder for the SCSU contingent at the NSIC meet included Chris Caron (28:28.72) and Paul Maile (29:05.51).

Host Augustana is the defending regional champion from 2012, and the Vikings also claimed first place at the recent 2013 NSIC championships. The 2013 NCAA Division II Central Region championships will serve as a qualifier for the upcoming 2013 NCAA Division II men's championshps, which will be held on Nov. 23 at the Plants Ferry Athletic Complex in Spokane, Wash.
