Sam Price Reaches 1,000 Career Points in Huskies 100-80 Win Over U-Mary

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team took on the University of Mary in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action this evening in Halenbeck Hall. Offensively, the Huskies picked up where they left off in last night's victory over Minot State, this time scoring 100 points to the Marauder's 80 at the final buzzer.

St. Cloud State improves to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the NSIC. The University of Mary falls to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference action.
Senior guard Sam Price (Eau Claire, Wis.) reached a milestone tonight as she surpassed 1,000 career points. Price is the 27th player in school history to reach this mark and the most recent since Talisha Barlow in 2011. Price went nine of 19 from the field, drained three shots from behind the arc, and hit seven of seven free throw attempts. She finished with 28 points, marking her new career-high, previously set at 25.
Five additional Huskies scored in double-digits in tonight's victory.
Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) finished with 15 points on seven of 13 shooting. Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) grabbed her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds (10 on the offensive end). Benson also added a team-high five assists.
Freshman guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul) who went seven of seven from three-point range last night, kept the momentum going as she drained her first three in a row tonight and finished four of six from behind the arc to add 12 points.
Guards Rachael Moen (Savage) and Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay) each added 11 points.
The Huskies shot 49% from the field to the Marauders 42%. St. Cloud State won the rebounding battle 46 to 35.
Brittney Dietz led all players for the University of Mary with 23 points.
St. Cloud State will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 21 as they travel to Duluth, Minn. for a 2 p.m. tipoff vs. the Bulldogs. The Huskies defeated UMD this season on Nov. 30 with a final score of 81-73.
