St. Cloud State women's cross country places 9th at NSIC championships

The St. Cloud State University women's cross country team finished in ninth place at the 2015 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships on Saturday, Oct. 24. The 6K race was held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.
The Huskies posted 247 points as a team, while Minnesota Duluth won the team title with 54 points this year. U-Mary (70), Augustana (73), Winona State (116), Northern State (119), MSU-Moorhead (141), Minnesota State (181) and Sioux Falls (246) rounded out the top eight teams at the championships.
Individually, SCSU was paced by Kaylee Roelike who placed 26th in the race with a time of 24:21.2. Alexis Zeis of U-Mary was the championship medalist with a winning time of 21:41.7.
SCSU's Samantha Sunstrom placed 35th in the race with a time of 24:44.8 and teammate Rachel Sakry placed 36th at 24:45.8. Maria Hauer placed 85th in the race for SCSU with a time of 26:36.0, while teammate Zia Matti was 90th at 26:54.2. SCSU's squad at the race was complete by Tristan Sproul with a 96th place time of 27:11.9, Lindsay Stassen with a 102nd place time of 27:42.7 and Kaylin Cherne with a 110th place time of 28:25.7.
