SCSU men's cross country takes 9th place at NSIC Championships

The St. Cloud State University men's cross country team placed ninth in the team standings at the 2015 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships on Saturday, Oct. 24. Â The race was held on the 8K loop at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.
The Huskies tallied 287 points, while Augustana University won the meet with a low team total of 46. Â The rest of the top eight teams included Sioux Falls (67), MSU-Moorhead (81), U-Mary (100), Minnesota-Duluth (124), Minnesota State (135), Winona State (137) and Northern State (263).
Chris Caron paced SCSU's group at the race with a 37th place time of 27:39.5, while Augustana's Glen Ellingson won the race with a time of 25:49.9.  SCSU's Sebastian Sowada took 56th place in the race at 28:17.5, while teammate Tremayne Collins was 71st at 28:39.4.  John Simila placed 83rd in the race at 28:55.8 and Johnathan Hess was 84th at 28:57.9.  SCSU's Jesse Groettum placed 87th at 29:10.2 and Jack Howell was 94th at 29:34.4.  The squad was completed by Brandon Jerde, who placed 101st at 30:12.5.
