Caron Paces the St. Cloud State Men’s Cross Country Program At The Bob Waxlax Invitational

SAUK Rapids, Minn. – Senior Chris Caron led the St. Cloud State men's cross country team at the hosted Bob Waxlax Invitational at the Wapicada Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 9. Caron has been the team's top finisher at all four races this season.

Caron's time of 26:19 in the 8K earned him 13th place overall in a race that was won by Seth Reel of Winona State. Minnesota Duluth earned the team victory for the second straight year. The SCSU men placed fourth.

Sophomore Sebastian Sowada finished 15th with his season-best time of 26:28.2. Junior John Smilia was the third Huskies finisher in a 27th place in a time of 26:49.9
Other finishers for SCSU were freshman Tremayne Collins (29th – 26:53.7). Jesse Groettum (47th – 27:49.4), Brandon Jerde (54th – 28:13.3), Johnathan Hess (54th – 28.31.9) and Jack Howell (58th – 28:50.5)

The St. Cloud State men's cross country program returns to the course at the NSIC Championship Invitational on Oct. 24 at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.
