SCSU's Eyssimont named NCHC Offensive Player of the Week

St. Cloud State University freshman forward Mikey Eyssimont (Littleton, Colo.) has been named the Bauer NCHC Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 25-31.
Eyssimont had the best weekend of his young career as a Husky, totaling five points to lead St. Cloud State to its first ever North Star College Cup championship while earning Tournament MVP honors.
In Saturday's 5-4 semifinal win, he tied a career high with three points, including his first career multi-goal game. Both markers came on the power play and each time put SCSU in front by breaking a tie. Eyssimont also had the lone assist on SCSU's first goal Saturday as he was named the game's first star.
In the championship game, he had the primary assist on the game-winning goal and sealed the 5-2 victory over Bemidji State with an empty-net goal. Eyssimont finished the tournament with three goals, two assists and a plus-2 rating after posting a plus-3 rating in the championship game, while putting six shots on goal with three each game. Â
This marked the first time that Eyssimont has earned NCHC Player of the Week honors. Â On the season, Eyssimont has eight goals and 11 assists for the Huskies.
HUSKIES REMAIN AT #3 IN NCAA POLLS
The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (22-5-1, 12-3-1 NCHC) remained at number three in the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/USA TODAY Division I men's hockey polls released on Feb. 1. Â
The Huskies lead the nation with 123 goals this season and ranked second in the country with a scoring rate of 4.39 goals per game in 2015-16. Â SCSU will return to action in the NCHC on Feb. 5-6 with a pair of league games at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
