The St. Cloud State University nordic ski team traveled to the Gitchi Gami Games 2018 in Cable, Wisc. for two days of races on Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21.
The event opened on Jan. 20 with a 5K Classic race for the Huskies. SCSU was paced in the race by Maria Hauer, who placed seventh in the race with a time of 15:37.0. Teammate Jamie Herridge placed 38th at 16:48.1 and Haley Bock placed 77th at 18:23.1.
The trip to Wisconsin was completed on Jan. 21 with a 10K freestyle race. Hauer was 25th in the race with a time of 28:23.0, while Herridge was 32nd at 28:53.2 and Bock was 57th at 31:35.5. SCSU will next travel to the College of St. Scholastica CCSA Races on Jan. 27-28 in Duluth, Minn.
