Women's Basketball Hosts First Round of NSIC/Sanford Women's Basketball Tournament

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team (17-9,14-8 NSIC) will host a first round game in the NSIC / Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament against Concordia-St. Paul (11-17, 8-14 NSIC) on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall, the league office announced on Saturday evening.
The SCSU program ended up finishing third in the NSIC North and hosts Concordia-St. Paul, who placed sixth in the NSIC South.
The team last hosted a first round game during the 2015-16 when the program was eliminated by CSP by a 83-72 score. The program fell to Sioux Falls on the road last season in the first round by a 65-51 margin. The SCSU women last won a first round game in the tournament during the 2012-13 season with a 72-47 victory over Southwest Minnesota State.
The winner of SCSU/Concordia-St. Paul game takes on winner of the Wayne State / Minnesota Crookston game on Sunday, Feb. 25, in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the Sanford Pentagon at 2:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the single elimination tournament.
