Fox9+ to televise St. Cloud State men's hockey games in 2019-20

St. Cloud State University men's hockey fans will be able to follow the Huskies live throughout the 2019-20 season thanks to an exciting new partnership with Fox9+ along with the continuation of telecast collaborations with Fox Sports North, Fox Sports North Plus and the CBS Sports Network.

The new television partnership with Fox9+ will feature live telecasts of nine select Huskies' home games from the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. The games' production work will be provided by SCSU's award winning Husky Productions, which is a student-led television production crew at St. Cloud State University under the leadership of Executive Producer Brian Stanley.

The telecasts on Fox9+ will also pair longtime SCSU play-by-play announcer and Fox 9 sports director Jim Rich along with noted hockey analyst Pat Micheletti. Joining the telecasts are SCSU student broadcasters Kirsten Krull (ice side) and Nik Speliopoulos (studio host). Fox9+ will also air the SCSU game at Minnesota Duluth on March 7.

"This new partnership with Fox9+ will allow St. Cloud State University to spotlight its nationally ranked men's hockey program and showcase the outstanding talents of our Husky Productions students. The Mass Communications department at St. Cloud State University has established itself as one of the premiere programs in the United States, and this type of outreach really offers an opportunity to highlight the great educational opportunities available on our campus," SCSU Director of Athletics Heather Weems said.

FOX9+ is an extension of FOX 9 and is the Twin Cities' home to the only local, over-the-air news broadcast at 7 p.m. Fox9+ is available in the Twin Cities region over-the-air along with cable and satellite availability throughout the upper Midwest.

The Husky Productions team along with Rich and former NHL and SCSU standout Mark Parrish will also provide coverage for the Huskies on Fox Sports North Plus and Fox Sports North during six other home games in 2019-20. FSN+ is also slated to carry the SCSU game at UMD on Mar. 6.

"Having Fox9+ as a new home of the St. Cloud State Men's hockey is a great honor." Stanley said. "Fox9+ has an incredible over-the-air, cable, and satellite reach which allows a whole new audience an opportunity to watch one of the best college hockey teams in the country play their home games at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

"The student crew of Husky Productions get real-world production experience while still being students at St. Cloud State University. With 18 HD cameras, multiple channels of replay and professional graphics, the students are able to produce a broadcast that is on par with all regional and national sports broadcasts…the viewers will be impressed."

The games scheduled to air on Fox9+, FSN+ and FSN are part of the Huskies' 2019-20 telecast schedule that will also include two nationally televised games on CBS Sports Network. SCSU's first game in the NCHC series on CBS Sports Network will be on Feb. 4, 2020 at Colorado followed by SCSU's home game vs. Denver on Feb. 28, 2020.

All SCSU games at home and all away conference games (along with all games from all other NCHC venues around the country each week) will also be available for live viewing on the league's NCHC.tv live video stream service. Every subscription for NCHC.tv under St. Cloud State helps create revenue for Huskies' athletics. For complete details on how to purchase access, please visit NCHC.tv/scsu
