Volleyball moves up in AVCA poll

AVCA Division II Top-25 Poll
LEXINGTON, KY – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team continued to move up the rankings of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II rankings. After a 2-0 weekend, which included a win over #25 Upper Iowa University, the Huskies oved to #15 in the latest AVCA Division II Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The #15 ranking is the highest for the Huskies in 20+ years, as they last broke the top-25 in 1996, when they finished the season as the #12 team in the country. That season, the Huskies posted a 20-11 overall record and once again qualified for the NCAA Tournament, making yet another regional appearance.
This year's team is already well on its way to matching that mark, as St. Cloud State is 10-0 overall and 2-0 in NSIC play. The Huskies look to continue their strong start to the season this weekend, as they face (RV) Minnesota State and #7 Concordia-St. Paul on the road this upcoming Friday and Saturday.
